Jon, the Calendar Project was a success in that we distributed well over 700 copies creating much exposure for custom knives not just in the US but abroad.
We will most likely continue to put out a CKCA calendar, however every other year (next 2011). We found that creating and distributing a calendar of this caliber is quite a task which consumes a lot of resources that are required in our implementing other projects such as our annual cancer research benefit projects and the promotion of custom knives through our Knife Show activities and such.
This year's Prostate Cancer Research Collaborative Bowie, raised a total of $7358.10 after corporate matching funds from Safeway Stores Inc. We will introduce our second collaborative knife created by Edmund Davidson, Steve Johnson and Wolf Loerchner at this year's Blade Show in Atlanta which will benefit Lung Cancer Research.
As you mentioned, our CKCA forum has been down for about a week now as a result of a software problem. However, we were already in the process of obtaining and setting up a new and improved CKCA forum which we are just about ready to launch.
I and many of the regulars here who are CKCA members would like to thank Blade Forums as some of our initial discussions which lead to the organization's creation started here. And also for allowing these types of discussions on what we are doing and will do in the future in hopes of progressing the custom knife knife community.
