Question regarding knife values

I am not a collector, the few knives I have accumulated starting in the 80s have almost all been daily carry knives. I never really gave most of them much thought until recently. I was at the range and I pulled out my knife for something and one of the range masters almost lost his mind. We got to talking and he is a big time knife enthusiast and said I should get more info on what I have. Some of them i was given, some I bought when I was working at a gun shop in the 80s. I have searched high and low for some sort of pricing to no avail. I have been told look on ebay, check out the sale forums. Neither of those seem to be very enlightening. The sale forum is mostly no help because everyone types SOLD over the selling price. So any info as to a reliable source would be much appreciated. The five I am most interested in finding out about are: A first generation C07 police model (PIG) plain edge. I bought this knife in 1985. A first generation C07S police model (Police Model) serrated edge. I bought this knife sometime around 1987. Second generation C07ATUS Tuffram coated (Police) serrated edge. I bought this knife around 1995. A C01S worker Gin-1 Serrated blade. New in the box with the paperwork. Lastly I have a Benchmade 970HK USP with the pistol etched on the opposite side of the blade. Again any help would be appreciated.

If you're talking about some Vintage Spydercos, I don't really know what a good price range would be.
Depends on the usual: how rare, what condition, how bad people want it, is it collectible?
But yeah vintage Spydies would likely get most knife enthusiasts fired up and giddy. :D
I get a little weak at the knees for SOG knives from the 80s and 90s. :p

Arizona Custom knives is another place you could look around to see what people are selling their knives for.
In trying to answer your question more accurately, I stumbled across this website called WorthPoint.
They have a few free listings viewable, the rest they want you to pay for a subscription/ free trial offer kind of thing.
I'd continue to look around various auction sites, the exchange, etc. because vintage Spydercos are a fairly common listing.

When it comes to used knives condition matters. A knife that is in the condition it is purchased in, unsharpened, without scratches and with its original box and paperwork will command a premium; while an example that has been carried, used and cared for, In good condition would sell for way less. Pictures would be a big help. Also, our buddies in China have made a number of fakes over the years, so good detailed photos are key to attracting collector interest.

Search for the items on eBay, then filter to "SOLD" listings. The specific knives might be listed (depends on the rarity) and give you an idea of their value. Much better than assuming the "Buy it Now" prices are the value, because those are usually grossly inflated and listed by people who list them forever hoping someone desperate or stupid will pay that much and they don't mind waiting for that to happen. There's always Worthpoint as well, a subscription service that archives auctions longer than eBay does, but it's really not worth it (since old prices might not reflect current values) unless you're researching info on items you don't know anything about.

The purity of your collection is something to value in itself. You bought what you liked and used them. There is a simple beautiful harmony in that.

Their monetary value now is irrelevant.

I personally think it would be a shame for you to stop using one of your knives because you found out it has monetary value. Keep using them and enjoying them.

If I’m being too philosophical this morning just ignore me.

I appreciate the responses. I am keeping the 3 police models but I will probably be selling the new in box C01S Worker and the HK 970HK-USP. Neither of these were carried. To be honest I forgot I had them. I also will be selling a 21 Sm. Sebenza Night Sky UFO w/ 3 UFOs on it, a Boker Tree Brand Lever Lock new in box and a Rick Hinderer Flash Point Neck Knife. Thanks for the help.
