Question regarding the anatomy of a CRKT M-1

I have a CRKT M-1. I took it apart to: clean it... see how it works... because it seemed like a good thing to do. I was also thinking about seeing what I could upgrade as well.

I won’t go into details but my two 60 lbs. + dogs decided to revisit their pecking order decisions right under the table I was working on. Once the room was put back together and I convinced my wife to unload the rifle I took stock of my work area. I had just removed the pivot screw when the melee began. I think I found all of the parts (Thank God for Hardwood floors), but I can’t seem to get them back on the way they are suppose to be. I can’t figure out where the O-ring goes either. The blade is too tight to open when it is in the center. I think I have the washers and thumb lock in the wrong order.

I’m going to call CRKT tomorrow to see if I can get some kind of exploded diagram, but hey, what can I replace? I hear all kinds of talk about brass washers and other components. I think the knife is fine as it is, but I want to start monkeying with them with the thought of trying to build one from the ground up at some point.

Any suggestions?

Well, the CRKT KFF I took apart didn't have a o ring. Maybe it's a spacer for the LAWKS? Got pics?

That's cause someone lost the white teflon o ring when they took it apart...

also, forgot to add that the plastic ring is a low cost method of improving manufacturing tolerances.

Both washers go next to the blade... the metal one next to the lawks, the plastic one on the other side...
now, there might be a tiny black rubber o ring which goes right in before the pivot screw...

I got an email from CRKT, but it didn't list all of the parts I had. Here is what I have:

Both scales
a thin white teflon washer
a thick white teflon washer
a brass washer
the LAWKS thumb switch
the small black o-ring

I'll keep playing with it,

both white washers next to the blade... thick one on the side without the LAWKS...
brass washer between the LAWKS and the scales...
