Ok, I've got myself a little bit of a situation here, I started looking into kydex sheaths and when talking to a guy about making them got the crazy idea stuck in my head that I needed a PURPLE kydex sheeth, so I went out on the search for where I can get kydex.

I found it

But my question is going to be if I can find anyone else that is willing to go in on buying a sheet with me because the minimum I can buy is 8 square feet and because the supplier is trying to get rid of the kydex I can get 32 square feet of it for what I take to be a fairly good price. I'd just take all of it myself except the shipping is ridiculous and I don't even know how to work kydex. So I'm looking for people who want purple kydex who are willing to go in on it with me and keep the majority of it, basically I'm looking to find someone that wants to be able to either work with or supply purple kydex. Obviously I'm not going to be making anything with the kydex, I'm going to be sending it off to the guy who will be making the sheath for me, and I'm not really a supplier because I'm not looking to sell this stuff, I just want someone else to buy it and sell me a little bit of it.

So can you help me by
1. Telling me if it is even appropriate for me as a non-gold non-supplier member to even post looking for someone like this.
2. Tell me where would be the appropriate place for me to post looking for someone like this.

Sure you can. It's a good question. Post here:

Wanted: Knifemaker / Craftsman / Related Services
Have a knife design you want built? Heat treating needs? Damascus Desires? Embellishment Enquiries? Creative Customization Curiosity? This is your place to solicit work. Anyone can post threads, however ONLY KnifeMaker / Craftsman / Materials Providers may reply to threads

What Esav said is correct for your question.

Edit: removed suggestion

Wow, haven't been snubbed so hard over asking a favor in this community before, quite surprising. I guess parting with raw materials is a big deal for some sheath makers.

Thanks for your idea anyway Kiah but based off of my experience here, if it comes up again in the future, it's probably not a good idea to suggest people trying to buy kydex of a sheath maker.

Sorry about that. Didn't see a problem with it. If I had a piece, I'd send it to you. Good luck in your hunt anyway.

I appreciate that and thank you for your help, I know it was nothing but well intentioned, just trying to save the next guy from running into similar... issues.
