I just received two Barlow knives. And I was doing some research on them. First question I have is Barlow and Boker the same company?? Whenever I go to look up anything about this Barlow knife Boker always shows up with the other Barlow knives.

Boker is the maker
Barlow is the style of knife
Many makers make Barlows
One of the earliest makers of the pattern was a family of Sheffield cutlers named Barlow. Over time the name became attached to the pattern, although there have many makers over the years.

Here's a definition of the Barlow from a dealer website. It's as good as any I've seen.

"A design that is not less than 150 years old. This was an inexpensive knife usually made with iron bolster and liners, always a one or two blade jack knife with longer than normal bolsters(2 1/2 times that of a simple jack); today barlow knives are usually made in keeping with each firms standard quality and are much sought after by collectors."
