Hi everyone, say I picked up a Scrap Yard Dog Father and was wondering whats the longest a Resiprene C handle has been used and what does it typically look like after years of use? Whats the typical service life?

I have posted a similar question over at the yard.

Thanks

I have a Battle Rat that I've been using for five years, and the handle is still in fine condition.

They do sustain damage, don't let anybody kid you. The handles on my users have dents, scrapes, shreds, etc. all over them. It doesn't effect use at all, and I'm sure it won't for many years, and it's easy to sand rough spots smooth again, but they definitely get damaged more than micarta or G-10. Throwing them, particularly, will most likely open them up to potential damage.

Thanks for the replies.
Had a feeling it was pretty tough....

I've been using res-c pretty hard in some Swamp products for a few years. If you get a healthy gouge or slice there is an easy fix - Simply heat the surface with a lighter and mold into shape with your finger. It's a little hot but hey! We're manly men here, right? ;)
