Ok guys, new to the forum so advise if this issue has already been addressed. I have just built my own 2x72 grinder and the grinder itself is awesome. Wayyyyyyy better then my 1x30 harbor freight garbage. With keeping the build as "low budget" as possible, I located an old treadmill and and removed the motor. Motor stated that it 2.65hp with a 6k rpm (around their). I also ordered an MC60 motor controller off ebay since the treadmill came with a MC2100 controller. After doing tons of reach I wired it up with a 10k potentiometer. Im current NOT running an choke on the controller (but not sure that's the issues anyways). Initial startup and and tracking were BEAUTIFUL. After 1 1/2 knives, the motor became super hot and I believe that fried the motor controller. Not sure what happened, nor how to combat this issue. Has anyone had this issue with a treadmill motor?
