Excuse my ignorance , I don't know if its an Americanism , but what is a BLEM ?

Short for blemish. A cosmetic issue like a scratch or chip in the scales. Nothing that would affect its performance.
Pretty sure it voids the warranty though.

Hmm...I didn't know that. How would buck know a few years down the road? They don't stamp them blems, do they?

They used to be marked FB but I guess they stopped doing that. Looks like I misspoke before, they are still covered against structural/functional damage, just not cosmetic damage.
