Hello Ron/spencer,
i’m a knife collector from the Netherlands. I also got a few SOG knives in my collection 2 sog bowie’s, a trident,a pentagon, a government, a tech 1, a leather dessert dagger, a scuba demo, a X-42 recondo, a seal 2000 and a seal pup.
My question is today I bought an sog government with a black blade it looks like the same steel as a sog bowie is that correct is it the same steel?

Hi Jurgen,

You have the Recon Government...and yes, it is SK5 high carbon tooling steel.

i bought the recon government for 30 euro its about $28. but it got a few nics on the blade and someone tried to turn the screw at the end.

sorry the other bowie is not for sale because one is a user at my work (army) and the other one is gaurding his friends on the wall
