Hello, I am a newbie, and was asked to put a handle on this new old stock AG Russell bowie. Here are the tang measurements:

13/16 tall 3/16 wide 4 9/16 long from the guard.

I don't have any experience with Bowie's, and this might be a dumb question, but I am not sure if this is supposed to have a hidden tang with pin construction, or if it should be just a standard full tang. I am leaning towards hidden, but was hoping to get your advice. Thanks in advance.

Is this blade blank what you have? (image below)

You can do a hidden tang or a frame handle. Hidden tang is the easiest.

The image of a frame handle can still be done as a hidden tang using that basic shape.

The standard hidden tang is simplest to do. \
All have the same basic guard made from 3/16" stock. The shape is a long thin oval. Brass is easiest to work. Nickel silver (white brass) is standard. Steel works, too.
