Hi everybody.
It's my first posting here, at Busse. I must confess I don't have any Busse knives yet, (though the Assault Shaker begins to grow on me, he, he), and I don't know much about them either, only what I've seen on their website.
My question regards the finishing of the knives. I have noticed that Busse knives don't have a polished surface, (bead blasted, stone washed, whatever) as I got used with other knives, at least so it shows in the pics.
Instead, they have a rather coarse finishing. Why? Is this a feature of the material? Isn't the blade prone to rust this way? Wouldn't a smooth finishing improve slicing?
Thanx and have a sharp day.

Dialex,
There are several different finishes availiable. There is satin(what I think you are looking for) bead blast, and coated. The most common is coated, and you usually have to request the satin or bb (both cost extra $$).

Welcome Dialex. As Matteo stated, there are several different finishes. The "bare" finishes include raw INFI, Satin finished INFI and Double Cut Bead Blasted INFI. None of which is particularly prone to rapid oxidation. I have worn satin INFI close to the skin in hot summer weather and had very little to no problems with rust. The rough finish you might be referring to is probably one of the various coatings. I know not what they are made of, but a good description would be that they serve as a tough outer skin to protect the steel and reduce their "signature" so to speak. The desert tan and jungle green that is getting more common on recent blades does not have any reflective properties to speak of. The coatings are very abrasion resistant and take a great deal of abuse.

I hope this helps.
