The best solution is to send it in to Emerson for a tune up, repair, and sharpening. Their service is superb and it won't take moe than a couple of weeks.

If you insist on trying repairs on your own:

With the knife open and locked, turn it over so you can see the lock. As you apply pressure to close the knife (be careful!) does the liner lock portion move to disengage? If no then then the culprit probably a worn stop pin, go to the next step. If the answer is yes then you could either attempt to add more spring to the lock by taking the knife apart and bending the spring further away from the liner or and I highly recommend this, send the knife to Emerson, they have great customer service.

Looking at the knife from the top (blade spine side) open is normally until it locks. If there is a gap between the rear of blade and the blade stop, the stop surface is probbaly worn. You could try to rotate the pin around so the unworn side (was facing the butt) faces forward. If that doesn't work send the knife to Emerson.
