Dan, would it be possbile to order something not on the order tracker? How would I do that and what is your wait time like right now? If anyone has customs from dan that are patterns not offered on the order tracker could you please post a pic of them. I' trying to get some more ideas to overload Dan with.

I do take the ocassional "new design" on....but need a good idea of what's expected....drawings help a lot, etc.


The hardest thing for me to work with is when someone says...I need a huntin' knife...just make me something. :foot:


That said...I tend to put custom one-off designs on the backburner...especially if they require a lot of time/attention/care.


Not saying I won't do it....I certainly will take ideas/suggestions! :thumbup:

Well, I don't have a design but you do. I remember that machete you made, not the one for a member the one for yourself. I wanted something similar with the width flaring out slightly more towards the mid section and tip and without the clip tip. Thinking about 14" 1/8" thick with a convex edge. Can I order something like that? If you can just email me ya or nay that would be cool.
 
Depends on the steel, honestly - what would you like?

What's your wait time like? Just want to see how soon you need the deposit and trying to calculate how much. :D
 
Done. It got kind of crazy :o I don't even know if you can or will do any of this but I definitely appreciate the consideration. Forgot to ask if possible to have just the tiniest section of stock and some G-10 right before the cutting edge of the blade. If it goes a little over the the 14" that's cool. IF this gets made what RC do you think it should be at considering its 3V?
 
The thick K5s are in heat-treat....probably won't get to them until close to the Blade Show.

I'm unclear about the G10/cutting edge thing...do you mean you want the handle to go up to as close to the grind as possible?


I'll probably have this one set at 58-9 Rockwell...not sure just yet. haven't done anything this long in 3V yet....*shrug*
 
yes to the g10 and the grind. Just wanted to protect the index finger. figured since it was 3V it could go as high in RC and still be plenty tough.
