Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a question about the best choice of Khuk for clearing brush and stuff like that. I am fixin' to marry a good ol' Texas surveyor and he needs something that will hold an edge in the field and be used like a machete. I thought maybe 18"-20" Chitlangi (it has a heart cho for wedding purpuses:D) or a Kobra??

Any thoughts??

Thanks so much,
Gin........soon to be Granny Smith:rolleyes:

PS........this is going to be his wedding gift:thumbup:

that's an amazing wedding gift! I'd say a kobra, but khukuris, while they may all look similar, have much more to 'em... handle sizes, shapes, full/not full tang, etc. all make a difference to the regular user... but I'd say the kobra, it's the most machete/sword-like in its usage. I hear the Sirupati is a little heftier than the kobra but not as heavy duty as the Ang Khola by any means.

Hi mamav, I would like to send you two the Chitlangi Khukuri made by Bura for wedding gift from HI and Kamis. Eamil me your mailing address

Congratulations.

I don't even have an opinion, but I do know the 11th one is the Steel Anniversary.

The heart is a nice touch...We were married on St Valentines Day

I think your idea is spot on, Mamav.
And Yangdu's advice is even better.
Congratulations on the marriage!
Nice to see ya posting!

Great news, welcome back mamav!

Congratulations Gin! Lucky guy.

A light Chit, or a light Siru would be my choice. Of course Yangdu is right.

I've had several Kobras, and liked them, but they are very small blades.

Thanks for all the wishes!! I'm very excited and think he'll get a lot of use out of his new addiction:D You know how it is............one khuk deserves another......and he'll have a wife who likes 'em,too;)

Hey Gin...My very best wishes to you, and congratulations to your soon-to-be spouse. I hope he has a sense of how lucky he is...(and what he's getting into). :)

That wedding gift from H.I....spontaneous and generous....is just.... "right," you know?

The spirit of Bill's intent lives on, the kindness of Yangdu is shining.

And a grandchild? Neat.

Be well and safe,

Kis
enjoy every sandwich

Best wishes on the wedding

- and I don't think that there is anyone out there today quite like Yangdu.
How many companies send their "clients" anything besides pens, stationary or booze?

We aren't talking AIG here.
Hi is an incredible organization.
