Hello all,

Ive just recently gotten into knives, axes, and all the other fun bladed weaponry/tools.
I stumbled upon Swamp Rat Knives here and Im really interested in making a few purchases.
However I still need to do my research. It appears to me that there is the Rodent 4-6-9
series out right now along with a few others and the Rodent Rucki.

So I guess what Im asking is does Swamp Rat Knives come out with limited batches of example the Mastiff Chopper blade I saw.
And then never come out with it again or is it a once in awhile offering every couple years?

Sorry for all of the questions but I want to be sure I dont miss one that catches my fancy! :D

Thanks in advance.

The current offerings are the Rodent series and Rucki. You can also still get a Ratmandu and a Rodent Solution I believe. These aren't really limited batches with the exception of Limited Edition knives. A few months ago they did a run of LE Ratmandu's. Different finish and numbered (1-300). For the most part, once they are done with a model, they are done with it. If you see one you like, go for it. If you change your mind, you can always sell it.

Ok great thank you for helping clear some of that up for me.

So that means the mastiff model is done with? The Rodent-9 looks like it but I like the write up on the mastiff being more of a "chopper."

I know no matter what I go with I wont be disappointed I love the steel they use.

You can find a mastiff on the second hand market, but don't expect a new one from the Swamp.

The Rodent 9 is a beast. Get one while they're available, you won't be disappointed. And welcome to the fun! :)

You are screwed my friend! Swamp Rat knives are as addictive as Crack! I welcome you to the madness!

Zymologist, If you have any questions feel free to PM me. I will try and help out as much as possible. You can also post questions here. Some of these guys know more about Swamp Rat than I do and I make them. :p
