Questions about a Mike Tea Sebenza sheath?

I just picked up a LNIB Small Regular Sebenza on the secondary market. With it, came a Mike Tea sheath that appears to be in un-used condition(dated 2005). From what I see and understand, it's a one piece leather sheath that leaves the end of the knife exposed and sits vertically. It's a lot nicer than I expected and I'm just wondering how the retention remains after some regular use and are there any hints on maintaining it?
Thanks very much.

As I recall, most of Mike's sheaths were suede lined, and most also had some really fine finished edges.

Mike used to spend a lot of time on KnifeNetwork forums, but I have not run into any of his posts on any forum for about three years now. He is a Canadian, but I cannot remember just where he is in Canada.

You can expect your sheath to loosen up some with use and wear and the retention will lighten up considerably, but if the knife is seated deeply there should be little concern about loss. Infrequently, you can put any good quality leather dressing on the sheath, but do so very sparingly. It doesn't take much to do the job right.

From what I remember. .He was a fireman. .A captain or someone with rank, out of Toronto.
He made me 2 sheaths for my limited editions.. $90 for the large if my memory serves me correctly.

Several people have, in the recent past tried to locate Mike, and I believe without success. He was/is Canadian and he was/is a fire fighter.

Good Luck

Mike Tea was the reason I started making folder sheaths .
His tutorials on KnifeNetwork were inspirational .
I still have the first pic of his work and edge burnishing that got my attention and enthusiasm for leatherwork racing .
As far as my research goes he just stopped making sheaths and moved on with new interests .
