Questions about a Randall

Hello,

I love Randall knives and have 4 of them with one more on order. Couple of weeks ago I came over to a friend of mine and he had laying on his table a Randall knife. I immediately knew what it was, he on the other hand had no idea. He bought it on garage sale for $10.00

I need your help in identifying this knife. What model it is and etc. I do believe it is a real Randall. Can you please let me know if it is? He also wants to restore it. What is the best way of going about it? Photos are attached below. Sorry for a poor quality, I've taken those with my iPhone.

Thank you!

That blade looks like it has seen some heat? Its all blue.

Thats a nice old one, or was. You could get it restored of corse, but whats it worth to your friend?

It's a mid 1950's Randall Model #3-7 'Hunter' - best to leave it as is...

He got a good deal at $10, it would be worth a bit more than that to a collector. Did he get the sheath as well, or just the knife?

Both sheath and knife. Sorry, original post did not have correct images. You can now see the sheath as well.
