hI FOLKS,
Well, it seems that i wanted to stop buying knives and truly i do. Yet, there is a problem i have been after a special flipper. I thought the Tighe Blade i have would quench my thirst for a special flipper. It's pretty, but it won't flip as it should. i was waiting for Brian to get his shop back in order because he said he had a flood.
i have been waiting, but i just can't take it anymore. i look at so many knives and once i start dreaming about flippers i think of my expensive flipper that doesn't flip properly. Brian promised he'd take care of it and i do believe him. yet, when i thought about the shipping and 2 trips at that and the wait in between coupled with the time I've already waited I have decided to just send the knife back.
So I have felt that Andre Thornburn's Flippers are the way i should go. wanted an R.J. Martin, but got no reply from his camp.
i have seen Thornburn's L51, as well as his L36 L Damascus bladed flipper as well as another L36 . i can't figure out why the L51 is so much more can someone please tell me why. it's like $1850. it's not a longer blade then the one i want,, nor does it have a expensive blade material it's N690 .
So what makes it worth all the extra by over $600, i can;t figure it out. I don't know the cost of his L 44's at all, but one was sold here back in 2013.
that knife is just freaking gorgeous imho. it seems the closer i get to something i really want there is a snafu. thanks for any help folks.
