I am wondering what was this knife disdained for? Is it a good knife for defence? Are there any places in Australia I can get one? So fare I've herd only good things about the Civilian dos anyone know of any short comings of this knife (apart from the fact that it's impossible to stab with)?

Thank you for help

Yes! That is exactly what it was designed for. It is a slash-n-go type of defensive knife: meant as a last resort backup.

I don't know anything about knife shops in Australia but you could always order off the 'net:
www.newgraham.com
www.knifecenter.com
www.1sks.com

As for possible shortcomings: the tip is very thin and fragile. Great for defense because the thin tip will slice like nothing else but don't use the knife for utility.
