questions about dying FRN

I have an Endura that has the black FRN that kind of look dark blue and I want to dye them OD green on the texturing and a darker black on the flats and on the border. How would I go about doing this? I assume I would have to lighten up the current color and I heard dye remover works for this. Is this true? And what can I do to protect one part of the handle while the other is being dyed? Thanks in advanced?

Trade it for yellow frn.
Then you can get the color you want.

You can't lighten the factory color, the dye is added in while the material is still molten and mixed all the way threw, there's no way to remove or alter the stock color. Dying only works to cover it but you can't cover black.

Like UXO2 said your only choice is to trade it for a yellow one. Actually since your wanting OD you could probably get away with starting out with green or blue either but you just can't dye black.

I remember a few years ago we were doing tie-dye with the kids and invited me sister and her ex over and he brought a black shirt... :(
Glad he's gone.
