questions about flame anodizing scales/liners

I see a lot of people that do diy flame anodizing of ti scales. I'm considering trying my hand at modding my Sage 2. Does titanium have a HT that could be ruined by doing this? I'm especially concerned with the lock-bar of frame-locks. Can the elasticity of the bar be ruined?

Similarly, I have considered flaming the steel liners of my tenacious. Do I have to be worried about the lock-bar of the steel liner losing it's spring?
