questions about Genesis screws

I have an EDI Genesis II, and one of the screws on the pocket-clip has come loose. They use really small Torx screws - I don't know the size, except that it's smaller than T-10 which is the smallest size wrench that local hardware stores carry. does anyone know the correct size for these screws, and where I could get a wrench?

Also, I want to replace the plastic handle-scales with some other material, because the plastic they use is abominable to me - feels cheap, cheap, cheap and tacky. yuck! I was thinking green linen micarta but have heard that micarta is hard to work with, esp. compared to G-10. any micarta-workers out there with words of advice on suppliers, and how to deal with this material? & is it stroger than G-10?

thanks for any info - FF

fishface,

I think the Genesis II uses the same screws as Genesis I. Pocket clip screws: T-6; scale screws: T-6.

Here's where I get all my drivers: http://www.mcmaster.com/ . Search for key: torx. You can also buy individual bit.

AG Russell also sells a screwdriver set that includes the T-6, but you also get the bits you don't need. Here it is: http://www.agrussell.com/gifts/mt-151.html .

i have a genesis I here in front of me. the handle screws are a T-6 but the clip screws are a T-7. the T-6 driver works (sort of) but the actual one is a T-7. i got my smal torx drivers at the local sears. they have T-6 through T-9 in the small sizes.

I knew I could count on you guys! this place is so great. so - any input on the micarta idea? thanks FF
