I have 3 Buck knives

Trapper - - my first knife circa 1975

Bucklite -Folding Lockblade - got it about 1984/85

And my newest, the 110 (with Idaho mark) bought last night thanks to all the hoopla on this forum.

My question is about the 110, it seems to have somewhat sharp false edge complete with a burr. Is this normal or did the guy at Wallyworld give me one somebody had returned? There are no visible marks from sharpening on the top of the knife. Is it supposed to be this way?

Thanks

   Wish I could give ya' an answer to that one.Someone will probably be along shortly to help,in the meantime, don't carry without a sheath! :D

I haven't seen one with a burr before, but that false edge does end up being pretty sharp sometimes. On one of mine I gave it a few strokes accross the top with a sharpening rod to smooth it down.

The chamfer actually has an edge??? A clip-point semi-bayonet??? :D

Somebody in Post Falls is getting too enthusiastic...

wow i can hear the excitement in your post even! !! you sharpe edge loveing thing you !

No it isn't on the primary cutting edge, it's on the top. I was thinking the same about running a stone over it to dull it some, otherwise, I'm very pleased with the way all the parts are put together

Hi Redhat, how deep is the burr? If it still leaves a visual defect in the blade after you take the stone to it; send it back to Buck and have them fix it! They would by happy to make the knife meet your expectations. I hope you enjoy your buck collection. Keep em sharp!

I would love a 110 with a sabre grind blade!!! That big Parker [with the Sambar scales] in Mike's 110 thread has a sabre grind...it would look awesome on a 110!!! :D

It's deep enough to hook my fingernail on, located right at the top where the spine ends.
