Questions about my first Busse

Hello all, I just received my Boss Street today. It's my first Busse (and the only one I can afford right now :p) and it's a nice knife! I have a couple of questions, as I am new to Busse knives, please don't laugh at my ignorance:

(1) The knife does not come with a sheath. Is this a standard practice for all the Busse knives?

(2) What is the black coating on the knife? It is not a smooth coating like that on the other brands so I am curious.

1) yes - notice all the sheath threads =)
2) no one really knows but the boss..... i still say its what happends when kibbler elves clean the bottom of there ovens....

The coating a powder coating. They can be smooth or textured, Busse chooses to use a textured finish.
 
No sheath with the knives from Busse. Mostly because everyone has different ideas in what they want in a sheath.

Leather, kydex, etc.

You can order them from many makers that lurk on the threads here.

I thought it was kind of weird when I started out, but now it seems normal. It would make them some what more expensive, and then you would be all ticked off when you bought exactly what you wanted, and had this sheath that never got used.
