hi,,,i have 2 mofbm's and noticed they are quite different.the one on top is over 2in in height at the first hump and the grips are quite blocky or unsmoothed on the top and bottom of the grip.the bottom one is well under 2in and the blade is a tad shorter, and the grips are more hand shaped and smoothed around the edges.it feels more like a trail master in hand than cgfbm!does anyone know if there were more than one mofbm design? or more than one release from busse? you can really see the difference in the full veiw shot.also note the top cbt is much deeper and wider on the lower knife.

I can see the difference. It looks like there is more blade below the corrugations on the first (unused) one.

Did you buy the second one used? If so, could it be that the original owner ground the edge to fix some dings (or had the shop do it)?

Hmmmm... Obviously one of them is a fake!!!!

;) Kidding... I am just jealous that I didn't snag one of those when I had a chance.

My guess would be that two different guys did two different grinds. Both look great.

hi,,,yes the bottom one is used but lightly.i looks like a original busse edge with the course grind marks.just like the new one.it hasnt been resharpend by me.but again i cant be sure what the previous owner may have done...

If you have a micrometer, it would be interesting to see what the thickness is on both knives just above the grind line in the same spot on each one.

i checked the thickness at the spine with a tape.both are the same, a hair under 1/4inch.

Yeah, I was talking about measuring the thickness of the blade just above the cutting edge on both.

Regardless, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Quick question, what's the MO in MOFBM? I checked the collector appendix but didn't see it.

its the same lenght.but the bottom one is unusual and is a little shorter than standard.
