I've been looking at the D'Allara Rescue and the 79mm, but neither seem quite what I want (D'Allara is too fat, the 79mm is too short). So I'm thinking of a 93mm one.

From what I can tell, there's 2 versions. An older one with ATS-55 blade, without the finger choke-up on the spine, and it's fully serrated. And a newer one, with VG-10, the finger choke-up, and 25/75% plain/serrated blade.

Is this correct? I'd kinda prefer a VG-10 fully serrated blade without the finger choke-up, but it from what I gather, this combination doesn't exist.

Also, is the blade (newer one) hollow ground? Without having one to hold, I can only go by pictures, and it appears that the spine area is totally flat with no bevel, then hollow ground halfway to the edge. Is this correct?

Is there anything about the Rescue 93mm that would make it a bad choice for utility (boxes, bundle ties, plastic bags, etc)? I'd almost consider one of the hawkbill bladed knives, but it seems like the tip would be too easily breakable considering my intended usage.

One unrelated Spyderco question: How can a normal (non-dealer) guy like myself get ahold of a Spyderco catalogue?

Thanks for any help ya'll can give me. I've yet to own a Spyderco, but hopefully with my next paycheck I can get my first (and later, a Spyderfly, but that'll have to wait for the time being).
