Been occasionally thinking for years about what to do with my collection before I die. Never could decide. A recent health issue has sort of made the decision for me. I need to sell most of my collection to help pay my medical bills.
This forum may be a good place to do that but I need a question or two answered before I commit to that plan.
I understand I need to buy a Gold membership in order to sell here. Correct?
There would probably be 40 to 50 knives for sale. What would be the best way to list them? All in one post seems to be cluttered, complicated, and very lengthy. List/post by type or maker or something like that?
What type of payment would buyers prefer? I would really like to avoid PayPal and similar. Is a cashiers check a good way to go? I know potential buyers here may be reluctant to buy from a first time, unknown seller. Is there any way to assuage some of that fear?
I thank you all in advance for your help and advice!

If you want to sell here, it's best to get a gold membership. That way you can post pics and PM any potential buyers.

How they pay is up to you/them agreeing to the terms. Post pics with your screen name and date, to keep scammers from using your info.

Don't post your email in the thread, only share it in PM's....

You could create a couple different threads, one with folders, fixed...

I believe uou dont need a membership to ask for knife identification. But you do to ask for/discuss value of such knives, this is assuming there is a knife or two you dont know too much about.
A lot of people get gold memberships in order to buy/sell on this forum. If you have knives other people want, there is an appropriate section in the forum to conduct that business

More people will be willing to buy if they can pay electronically.

You can divide the knives into the categories available in the for sale subforums, folders fixed, kitchen, custom, gadgets &gear (for swords and axes). You can only do one post per subforums, and check the rules for picture requirements. But you could initially post just a couple knives, sell those and get good feedback so others would see you are a reliable seller, then post the next batch.

You do need a gold membership to ask questions about value, if necessary. 50 knives is enough to make a gold membership worth it.

I'm not sure what their criteria are for collection sales but maybe try A.G. Russell.

Bookmarked by me this morning.
At the bottom of every BF page is a set of links. One of them is "Terms and Rules". That link takes you to a page of links, one of which is the "Rules for the Exchange".

There is also a direct link to the Exchange Rules in the header of every page in the Exchange.

Thanks for all the info. I have some serious thinking to do before I commit to selling here but I am much more informed now. I appreciate the help!
