Questions About Sending Knives Into CRK

I want to send two knives to CRK to have double studs installed and possibly spa treatments.

1) How much does it cost to have double studs installed? These would be on Seb 21s, one a large and one a small.
2) Will CRK automatically give them a spa treatment, and if not, will a spa treatment lengthen the turn-around time?
3) These are both wood inlay polished scales. I removed the clips on these two; would they re-blast the non-polished portion? (All my CRKs have marks on them from the clip.)

Thanks!

Hope I'm not breaking a rule here, but this is what they sent to me after requesting it in January of 2015.

Sending your knife to Chris Reeve Knives

As part of your warranty will always clean, tune and sharpen your CRK folder and sharpen your CRK fixed blade at no charge. Your only cost is the return shipping fee ($15 in CONUS). Please find below a few important steps to remember when sending your knife to us.

  1. We recommend insuring your parcel when shipping.
  2. Our address is CRK, 2949 S. Victory View Way, Boise ID 83709
  3. Very important! Include the information requested on the knife service form with your knife. Failure to do so can delay our response time.

  5. Once your knife is received it is usually fixed up and on its way back within 3-4 weeks. That period is an estimate and can take longer or on rare occasions not so long.

You can also find those forms on their site too I believe. If not, you can pm me and I can email you one. I think I have one saved.

But I would suggest calling them first to see what they say before you mail them. Nice people to talk to.

Thanks guys! Excellent information Jacob. That answers my questions. I will take you up on your offer if I have trouble finding forms Joe. Now if only I can part with my knives for 3-4 weeks.....

I bookmarked the thread for future reference.

That's why you need 5 or 6 spares and then backups for those. Lol.

They'll come back nice though. I've sent a couple in for double lugs and spa and they looked brand new.
