Good afternoon!

I'm just wondering if there's anyone here that owns an Everest Kanata? I've checked the older reviews I could find, but some of them are way old. Any recent impressions, and especially, recent pictures? The ones offered in the shop with the super detailed scabbards look amazing, but I'd love to see more high resolution pics first.

Any owners in here?

Here's a close up of my sheath.

I know Ndog has one, can't remember who else has one. Seems like there are 4 or 5 around here someplace.

Beautiful blade. I'd like to know how well it cuts

This is mine. OAL 36", weight 36 oz, made by Young Sher Kami. Not one of the fancy ones with a carved/engraved scabbard, but I really like the Hawaiian Koa wood handle.

I believe it will cut well, but I don't have anything appropriate to test it on. No enemies, no intruders, no tatami cutting mats.

Not the Everest Katana with the silver scabbard, but a nice one none the less.

I haven't cut anything with mine yet, but when the zombies finally come...
But seriously, this sword is very sharp and I'm sure sure slashing cutting with it would be no problem. It also stays relatively thick towards the tip, thrusting and stabbing with it would probably hold up as well.
Mine is a full tang Chiruwa build and it feels real solid, it's definitely not a regular katana in that aspect.

Here's Mine:

Kumar Everest Katana - Standard - 36" 46oz. I haven't tested it on any Tatami mats, but I am sure the results will be quite impressive. Solidly built, and not your traditional katana.

I thought Cul had one but I didn't want to misspeak. I remember the chair now. I think they call that visual aides or something.

Trying to figure out what kind of store these pictures were took at. Clothing but swords hanging on the wall?
Maybe it a home with a commercial décor?

Smoke shop. Its a "smoke" shop. Where they sell "water pipes" for "tobacco" as well as novelty items. What I'm wondering is how a HI sword got thrown into a smoke and novelty shop.

Nah...I'm the odd man out...:(, you and Ndog have "THE" Katanas...:D

Hey my friend, you might well be a little odd, but your never out. I got your back on this one.

Hold your head up.

Wow thanks for all the great katana photos. I almost am tempted to get one myself... Kukris are one thing, but I don't know if a katana will fall under the "general purpose yard work category" I typically use to justify the addiction... I guess I could cut the grass with one...?

Sheath by Arjun as is Bawanas and such beautiful work!

I think the last was sold from Aunti's collection but I forget who got it. The one before that was bought by Sawgrass. The first one I believe is held by Berkley but is was made by Bura! Cul got really lucky and got a beautifully shaped one as you can see. I havent cut anything with mine yet but I have no doubt it will hold up just fine!

My blades didn't get "thrown" into my shop. I put them up for display and on the remote possibility of defense should I need it.:p Actually we don't sell any tobacco, neither I nor my partner approve of or smoke tobacco. Since our shop is in Colorado we sell all kinds of stuff including smoking accessories. Thanks, and take care !!

Yeah, thrown in I didn't think was the right sentence in this scenario. I think I only been in one smoke shop before and your's seems a lot more spacious and other stuff.

So perhaps novelty shop would be a better tag than a smoke shop?

I don't know too many business owners, I might have to brag on this a bit if your ok with that.

The sad thing is I don't even display any of my blades at the shop anymore. We had a break in and my absolute most beautiful kuhkri was stolen.:grumpy:|

The blade was gorgeous with inlays, the horn scabbard had mountains and the Nepalese flag in brass, the handle was a very rare bone one and it was made by Rajkumar to top it off.
One thing positive though was at least two of my customers ended buying multiple Khuks from Yangdu after seeing mine and talking with me at length about them and their quality, where I got them etc.

OH man what a kick in the teeth that is. That's gorgeous. That sheath is to die for. NICE!

But what the heck is that big white thing in the case with it? Not a still me don't think. Maybe a double bubble water bong or something.

I got the record here for the largest bong taken in the property room. Thing is about 7' tall, just a big straight tube.
No idea how it works, definitely a two person operation, you can't be on the one end and like the junk in the other end.
Least ways no way I could figure out how too. Not that I really wanted to mind ya. Just curious by nature.
