Hey guys, I'm knew to this whole forum deal and every time i look to purchase a knife from the exchange area it says either please BTT or something about CONUS. Can anybody help clarify what these terms mean?

Bump To Top
CONtinental United States

First one is standard throughout any forum you will ever find yourself on, as it means someone has posted within the forum in order to put the thread at the top of the thread list.

The second is military a military term and generally has to do with shipping. There is also OCONUS, meaning Outside CONtinental United States. In the military we use it generally when we are shipping out/in, or moving, or determining where a unit is.

Hope this helps.

some other common ones here:

afaik=as far as i know
iirc=if i recall correctly
op=original post/poster
imo=in my opinion
pe/se=plain edge/serrated edge (se may also refer to single edge)
ffg=full flat grind

The listings that show up on the first page of the exchange get seen by the most people, so when a post gets 72 hours old, the original poster posts in his own thread. This moves the thread back to the first page, or "back to the top" (BTTT).

CONUS is continental United States, meaning the seller isn't willing to ship outside the US.

There was a recent thread on common acronyms used here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=695497 Welcome to BladeForums, by the way.

Occasionally .... OP also means "OldPhysics." For some strange reason.:p:D
