Questions and advice on Emerson Banana knife

Hello I'm a noob on here so don't flame me to bad. I have been using a Spyderco Native and need something bigger and heftier and liked the Emerson a friend of mine had. Now I have been looking at Emerson Knives for a the past few months and after looking at the website and youtube I want to buy the Emerson "Banana" CQC8 or the mini version. Since there are no stores here that carry the bananas I would like to know which version Emerson owners on here would reccomend for an all purpose edc. Is the bigger one to big for an edc? Is the smaller big enough for all around use? Just wondering. And what is the cheapest online store to by from? Thank you.
 
Feel your pain man!

Sending back my new Horseman (mini 8) due to the blade rubbing on the liner when closing and contemplating upgrading to the 8...

I think the Horseman is a good size for all around stuff - I also dont know how to justify the extra $50+ just for an extra 1/2 inch of blade on the 8...

Decisions, decisions :D
 
Large Emersons carry well, so if you don't have bade size restrictions,I'd go with the full size.

Thank u for the info. I was tyrin to do the mesurements out based on the Emerson website and using a ruler and it looks like the handle on the full sized banana knife is really big. Do you think it is too big? My hands are a medium glove size.

Id go with the large 8 anyday they are beautiful knives ride well in the pocket. i borrowed a guys while i was at airborne in FT benning georgia and i liked it alot rotated with cqc-7.

either way you cant go wrong but id get the regular sized one

My favorite Emerson is the CQC10
I wish I could own one of all models, but for the 10 is a perfect EDC

BS00---I love the 7B. Take your time. You have lots of great choices. What is your primary purpose for the knife?
 
wow eric very cool pic! One of my buds has the CQC10 and it was very nice but their is just something about the blade on the the banana that i love and i think it would be a great first Emerson. Is the handle on the CQC10 the same size and bulkyness of the full size banana knife?

Lycosa i was planning on using it for a little bit of everything. Every day chores but also for when i camp and don't want to use my kabar. I dont have and cant afford more then a few blades so the ones I by have to count for alot.
