First, I saw someone that was affiliated with Camillus Knives posting about the Becker Patrol Pack. I was wondering if he could provide some more information - was it developed by Ethan Becker?, a short history of development, advantages, official retailer, etc.
Second I saw that Steven Dick from tactical knives was posting. This is for him - been buying every issue since the first - off of the newstand - great magazine - would like to see features on - the proper use of the "flay poll" on the Gransfors hunters axe, a comparision between the Swedish Fire Steel, the Strike Force and other ferrocerium rods, and something on crooked knives and ulu knives. Keep up the great work on the magazine.
Last, for those interested in nordic knives I found a link for Sromeng knives website http://www.knivsmed-stromeng.no/ , it is written in Norwegian - I can't read it - but has some great pictures of his knives.

Thanks in advance,
Christian Hanson

Yes, Ethan Becker designed the Patrol Pack, and I believe Eagle produces it. Don't know about development other than Ethan Becker has a good understanding of what a knife should do and what a pack should do. I"m sure others can help further.

The Becker Patrol Pack is my pack of choice for what we do. Anything Ethan designs is bulletproof in my opinion. You can buy it at Brigade Quartermasters http://www.actiongear.com As for design background....I'm not sure.

Your other issues have to be taken up with Steve Dick. We do a survival column in the mag but remember that this is a knife magazine. In the column we get into various skills but our main focus will always be on edged tools....but I'm sure we will eventually get into what you're asking about in one of the columns
