This is new forum software or just a new design?

All of the forums and threads are taking an insanely long time to process....it takes forever to load up a page, and once it's up I can't scroll down without it jumping all over...almost unusable.

Is there some sql tuning in the works or any type of db optimization? You guys didn't upgrade to a faster server/service level did you? It seems like the webpage is underwater.....not sure what it is having a problem recalling/rendering but everything is in slo-mo.

Feel free to ignore if you don't want to bother, but I'm really interested in what you guys did for the transfer.

thanks
joseph

Considering I'm surfing the forum on a netbook with a 1.6 GHz Atom processor and 1 GB of memory without any problems, I have to think the problem is on your end. The new look is due to a new version of vBulletin. I don't recall what the old version was, but I believe the upgrade skipped a few versions to get to the newest available. Spark did not mention changing servers this time, but he has mentioned some changes to the database and that the url's have changed so old bookmarks won't work and need to be updated.

This began with a change to the new version a week ago. Look around Tech Support for a few major threads on what happened and how Spark has been tuning up the new version to work better. There have been a few people who are experiencing the extreme difficulty of working with the current status as you have.

What browser are you using? If you are using the new IE9, I'd remove it and try IE8 or whatever you are into.
Have you made any changes to your hardware in the last 2 weeks?
What worked for me was clearning all cookies and reestablishing links to all the new forums. Coincidentally, I'm not having any issues either, I have an older desktop from 2007, my Droid phones works fine as well. I also ahve a laptop and some other machines at work.

For me, as far as speed goes, I am good on IE8 amd IE9, also good on FireFox. Never had any speed or screen refresh issues.

We were having massive speed problems when we upgraded the forum software a week ago, however doubling the CPU in our vm solved that problem. Now speed is roughly the same / faster than before the upgrade.
