In the re-handling of my 112, I discovered there was no way to avoid scratching up the bolsters. So I decided in for a penny, in for a buck and rounded the bolsters with a combination mill file and grinder and have a lighter, very ergonomic 112. Now I need to figure out how to smooth, polish, and blend the facets in to smooth curves.
Gave one bolster a shot by hand with 220 wet/dry. Seems to be getting out the tool marks but there's gonna be tight spots like right next to the spine lock, and as I mentioned, need to blend the facets and sand to profile.
You mentioned little rubber drum sanders. Are those available for dremmels? I have runner backed spindles, but the smallest diameter is 1"
I have no objection to hand work, just wondering the best way to get it done. I could get a cloth wheel for my bench grinder or spindle sander, but what type of wheel(s) and compound(s) do I need.
Much obliged!
James
