Questions for Thomas

Question #1
When are the Scallions switching over to Sandvik 13C26?
and
Will you guys be doing a full serrated version? I never really understood the combo blade on such a short blade.

Question #2
Martini - "any word on that ZDP JYD II?"

Thomas - "I should be carrying around the first proto in a couple weeks.:D Delivery will be Oct. or so."
How is the ZDP JYDII coming along? And how much will they retail for?

Question for the forum
I looking to pick up a small to mid size Kershaw that has a serrated blade. The knife needs to be pretty lightweight (as I will also be carrying my JYDII as my EDC) and the blade needs to handle some pretty heavy duty cutting (rope, plastic, boxes, etc...). Oh and I think I would probably like the SpeedSafe on this knife for easy one handed opening.

What do you all recommend? I was thinking about a Scallion, but I don't think they come in serrated.

Thanks!!

While really not "light-weight", still, do yourself a big favor and get a "Mini"-Cyclone. Those are awesome!...

Oh yeah, I most certainly will be getting a Mini-Cyclone in the near futire. I've had my eye on a ZDP-189 Mini Cycl for some time now!

I've been carrying (and giving away as customer gifts) the Scallion in rotation with a cyclone and a mini cyclone.

The Scallion, with the current steel, will hold an extremely sharp edge, and I haven't found anything that it's not up to (including opening # 10 cans of tomato juice!). Unless you know that you will need a serrated blade (IE rope, heavy cardboard, etc) I really wouldn't mess with a serrated one, although I do have an inferior one *coughsogcough* that has a permanent home in my knife drawer.

I'm looking forward to a boutique run in the future for the little Scallion! Good Morning Thomas...

I think Thomas said the Scallions and Chives are not switching over to Sandvik 13C26.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they're sticking with the 420 on those 2.
