So my wife got me a pro pack 1 for Christmas, which is on its way now (found out about it early due to a shipping issue that has been resolved; Kyle at WE was VERY helpful in figuring out the shipping and was very professional and polite). Anyway...I was curious what angle/positions/other settings you are using for some of the following:
-Paramilitary 2 in S30V
-Hinderer XM18 3.5 in S35VN
-CPM Cruwear Military
-Spyderco Gayle Bradley in CPM M4

I would greatly appreciate your information and expertise. Thanks ahead of time!

It's all prefernce really. I like 17-20º per side on all my blades. You could always match the factory bevel the best you can (even tho some are uneven sometimes) With ffg blades I've found using a small cloth inbetween the clamps and the blade helps to keep it from moving around. Just remember the stones take a while to beak in.

Yeah like ^^^ he said. It's all preference. It depends on the steel, the grind, as well as what you prefer. Just use a sharpie to match if you choose :)

I usually try and match the original angle of the knife, unless the blade doesn't perform as well as it could. For example, I changed angle on my ZT0777 M390 from 22º per side to 19º per side. It performed much better in every cutting task.

Another really good investment is a digital angle cube. It can really help you find the right angle for the knife, especially since the height of the knife affects what the angle setting should be for each arm. You also might want to keep track of the position, angle, etc. for each knife somewhere for quick and easy reference for future sharpenings.

30º inclusive is my go-to when I'm unsure about the steel or what I'll be using it for.

28° for m4 has been good to me. Very slicy. May go more acute next time I sharpen my knife.

Edit- oh and if you want an angle cube, hf sells them and they are frequently on sale.
