Nice 165OT nutoknives! As you might have guessed, it is a fairly early one, the 11,687th one made, likely circa 1969-70 IIRC. It sports the second design sheath with handle keeper strap but short belt hanger. Earlier sheaths had a choil/guard retainer strap and later ones had a longer belt hanger. The early sheaths in excellent condition, as one might guess, are more uncommon than the knives. Schrade made the 165 pattern for Sears as well as the 15 pattern, sometimes with minor embellishments over regular production pattern, sometimes not and occasionally greatly embelished. The Sears 15OT is also a fairly early one judging by it's sheath design, quite possibly contemporary with the 165OT. Earliest sheaths for those used faux reconstituted leather impressed with a waffle texture, choil retainer strap and an aluminum and fiberboard sheath insert to keep the blade from cutting the laces. They shortly went to the heavier smooth leather sheaths, used the handle retainer strap, then rivets to protect the laces, and eventually no laces but a third gusset layer to protect the stitching.
