I do not have any Bowie knife from any maker in the collection. I really like the 916 Bowie. It's looking to me that they were or are always a Custom Shop knife and were never a catalog item? I've located one that is new with box sheath and all paperwork for what I consider a fair price, it's 1 of 250 and has apple coraline scales, attractive knife.
Any idea when these were made? How collectable do you consider the 916, the prices on E-bay seem quite high. Does Buck come out with them very few years or are they done with them?
Looking for a little education, thanks in advance.

Buck 916 bowie #B916-LE-O designed by WBC (Wild Bill Cody) with Apple Coral handles, 2 mosaic pins, mokume guard, mirror polished blade of 420HC steel with hand filework on spine. Measures 12-3/8" overall with 250 made in 2007 and came in a Buck black limited edition box with a light brown distressed leather sheath, COA, and the natural markings paper. The 916 is a nice bowie knife and is collectable as a limited edition. They have not been made as a production knife that I am aware of but have been made in several variations of limited editions every couple years or so.

I collect Bowies like JB and gedlicks and a few other guys here on the forum...
The 916 model is not my favorite Buck bowie... I just think the handle
is to small or not fat or thick enough for me and I have small hands... I like
the coffin handle ones and so on... :)

916... I like this one because it has a Stag handle...

Thanks, thats the one, went ahead and pulled the trigger for half of what they are being asked for on E-bay, really excited that I could add one to the collection. Look for it next Sunday. Its Too Early, I agree with you, much prefer the look of coffin handle but beggars can't be choosers.

Cool Augie, I can't wait to see what you got... I'm glad your going to post it on the SPS...

I buy what ever I find and like... Not what others like... I have to live with it... and paid

for it... I'm glad you got something you like... We all like different things... ;)

Make sure you post photo's of it when you get it. I also Like the one you just bought. But, unless I can find a deal like you did It's been out of my price range! I like the 916 Bowie's they look great in photo's. But, the handles are just too short like Armand said. However, they made one with a stacked leather handle for BP that was just right. Let us know if you would like us to add photo's to your thread, there are more that a few folks here who collect these:thumbup:.

Thanks for the input, please add photos if you would like, I love seeing the different versions. It's a learning experience for me and gives me ideas on knives to keep an eye out for.

Voilá, another 916 Bowie (916 MT2). Without mosaik pins with
ironwood scales. 100 made in 2005, delivered in the black LE-box.

... and, for comparison, together with the 908 Bowie and the 976 Dagger
