I have the opportunity to make an offer on this knife, (local sale) and was wondering if it is legit and a ballpark on value? Comes with hard sheath.

Bad, it looks right but I can't say for sure... Here's mine, I got mine for under $5.00 in a collection... I love San Diego...

Hello, there is a web site buck-184.com that has some good info on that knife. There was a couple differences over the years it was made. The sheath should be plastic, have one or two nylon pouches, a compass and sharpening stone.
Hope that helps, best of luck with your purchase.

Thanks for the replies. I checked the site out and I think it's legit but was just looking for additional feedback as I know nothing about this model Buck other than I like the looks of it and have always thought I needed to add one to the collection. I've seen them sell on the big auction site from as low as $180 to over $350 depending on condition as well as if it's just the blade and or holster or the complete package NIB. Pretty sure I've read about fakes being made but haven't seen one so wasn't sure what to look for.
