Questions on a spydie and a CRKT

I'm currently in the process of choosing two more knive for my EDC rotation. I've tentatively picked the Spyderco Native in s30v and the CRKT Lightfoot M1 with an AUS 8 blade. Both brands have gotten respectable reviews on the forum and my experience with both brands has been stellar. I've been planning on getting the s30v Native for a while to replace the older Gin-1 Native I've abused for the past four or five years. It's been a great knife and I love the ergonomics, for a small knife it handles great. The CRKT Lightfoot would be my work knive when I'm in the field. I spend a lot of hours outdoors where a good knife comes in handy and as I've lost my fair share of knives I don't want something that costs more than 60$ to 70$ to replace. I used to have a CRKT M16 with the spearpoint AUS 8 blade and it served my well.

Does anyone out there have any experience with these knives? Any feedback would be appreciated and if you have any other knives to recommend I'm all ears. Thanks a lot.

I have experience with the slightly older Native 440V. I miss that little fella after I dropped it somewhere. The CPM440V steel cuts very aggressively and I like the ergos of the handle.
I've no experience with the Lightfoot M1, but I think it isn't a bad piece.

I too have owned a Native in G-2 steel. One day I was cutting some plastic banding and the lock failed on me. I believe that it was due to the fact that the Native is more of a "rear lock" than a "front lock." I've found most FRN rear locks to be somewhat unreliable. Other than this, I liked the G-2 steel.

It's a great knife! Good steel and built like the tank.
Well worth the money.

I'm planning on buying the CRKT Lightfoot M1. I can't offer you any words of experience yet, but the fact that I'm going to buy it speaks my opinion of the knife.

I do not have the specific models you have, but I have many Spyderco, Many Cold Steels, several Onion Kershaws, and recently a quickly growing number of CRKT's. I think both the companies you are thinking of are stellar.

I just got off of the phone with Patrick at CRKT discussing my pair of Peshkabz; these people are knife people(!) who really care about their products, and are professionals. So much so, I just ordered a pair of their large Crawford/Kaspers folders too.

Have you looked at these models as well? I am anxious to get my Caspers...next.....

You are on track - have a ball!!
