Questions on Benchmade's warranty

Hello, everybody! I recently (couple months ago) acquired a 555HG mini grip. After a while, I noticed some issues, including blade play (when it is loose enough to swing closed) and centering, almost to the point of rubbing. As this knife is not a beater for me, the issues may seem insignificant, but it's really been bugging me, and I'm not able to enjoy the knife as much as I would like to.

Are these issues significant enough to get a replacement or get it fixed through Benchmade's warranty?

As I'm located in Norway, will I have to pay for shipping costs to and from the US?

Are there any home remedies that have worked for you that I can try?

Thanks in advance.

If you have your pivot loose enough to swing closed then you will always have some side to side play. There should be no vertical play though. If your blade is rubbing the liner then I would just try to tighten the pivot to center the blade, if that doesn't work I know there is a few people who know a trick for centering the blade on an axis lock. Hopefully they will chime in soon.

I'm not sure if Benchmade does international warranties (because shipping knives to other countries is often times problematic), but even CONUS they do not cover any shipping - you need to pay shipping to and from the factory.

Have you tried recentering the blade by taking out the pivot, pushing the blade in the direction you want/holding it centered and retightening the screw?

As far as blade play, not sure how much you have but if you want to be able to swing the blade out you are going to need to loosen the pivot (causing some side to side bladeplay). If you are keen on flicking out your knives and desire no blade play, you are going to have to pay a bit more or look for knives with bearings. Or you could just wait a long time and break in your knife, that might do the trick too.
