Hi,

I have got an oppurtunity to train in Lameco Eskrima.Going through some websites i found ,it consists of the all three ranges of combat.I would like to know, Is there empty hand training in Lameco eskrima and does it cover all the ranges of combat. Is it a direct translation from weapon techniques. Is it taught only after practicing the weapons.Does it include any Ground Fighting and Grappling.

Can you please help
Thank You

Hi Vi King,
Seek out Guro Dave Gould , he will be able to answer this for you , he can be found over at the amok website quite often and is very detailed in his answers and very serious about lameco. hope this helps.

Can't answer for others but I know that LAMECO as taught by Felix Valencia is quite heavily into ground work both with and without a knife.

Best regards,

I did not personally train with Edgar Sulite before he passed but my instructor trained under him. My instructor said Sulite was amazing with stick and knife. What little I have been taught about this system leads me to believe it is excellent. Definitely, train if you have the opportunity.

I have trained with Felix Valencia, I know he certainly teaches empty hand and ground stuff. I don't know if it's strictly Lameco, since he also trained in silat with Herman Suwanda. Lameco is a great system.
