Hi. I am new to knives that cost more than $20. I recently picked up a Kershaw Blur and I was thinking it would look pretty cool with some anodized spacers or a different thumb stud (since mine is ripping my thumb to shreds). Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe blue spacers like the CRK ones.

Modifying your knife makes it more personal. You can take a needle file or a small stone to the thumb stud to remove some of the sharp edges. Protect other areas in case you slip off the stud when removing these edges. When changing the spacers remember that they should be the same length as the original or your action would be effected. Enjoy the Blur and make it your own.

You can't just buy any ole spacers and slap em in there. They have to be the correct height to work. Find the measurement for the rear spacer in there now and you have to get as close to that as possible in your replacements. Too tall or too short and you could mess up how the lock behaves, how the pivot screw behaves or even if it stays tight, how the blade feels or operates when you open and close it and even affect how the blade closes by causing the blade to rub the sides of the liners when you close it.
