Questions on Smooth CF and a couple pic requests

Hi All, First things first, is it correct for me to assume that the smooth CF scale still has a bit of "Grab" to them due to the small fibers or are they usually "slick"? I have only ever had a textured CF scale and I know most CF scales I have handled from other manufacturers still give a good amount of purchase, even though they are "smooth".

Secondly, I would love to see some pics of Smooth CF with Blue ti hardware (handle and pivot and standoffs) along with bronze ti hardware (handle and pivot and standoffs). I would also like to see the same with a dark green G10 scale. I am starting to think of some embellishments for my XM. Any pics you can offer will be helpful:) Thanks!

It's smooth buddy! I would say the most similar would be the stonewashed Ti lock side smoothness. But a little more smooth.

Here are some pics with dark green scale, bronze screw and copper standoffs. The dark green is hard to get the color in a pic. My crappy cell pic doesn't help much either. Looks a ton better in person.

Thanks Dave! How close color wise are the Copper standoffs to the Ano'd bronze pivot screw in the hand? I would imagine that in time the Copper will patina a bit darker than they are currently. Kwazy, that is surprising to me. I though it would at least have a little grippiness due to the fibers but I would have been wrong. Thanks for the info!

A hint more brown in the bronze than in copper. Copper is shinier as well. If you need it I have another bronze screw I can stick in next to the standoff and take a pic.

Yeah that's just from feeling the smooth cf on my knife while feeling the titanium lock side scale at the same time.

Here is a dark green with brass standoffs. Have a bronze Ti pivot on it now, but no updated pictures yet.

Gosh, I am really liking that brass with the green g10. It would be incredible if brass screws were made (not sure how feasible that is though.)

Smooth carbon fiber on a 3 and 3.5. I have the copper standoffs on the 3.5 (last 2 pictures), The pictures don't do this combo much justice. The smooth carbon fiber is very smooth, but when my hands get sweaty I find that it grips more, rather than getting slippery. Just keep the original G-10 scale and if you know you are going to get down and dirty, trade out the scale for the day. This is the beauty of a knife with options! BTW PHOTOBUCKET is going through maintenance, so I could not properly post my crappy pictures

The leftmost is textured CF w/ blue standoffs against a SW bronze ano'd frame. The second and fourth from the left are smooth CF w/ blue pivot screws and copper and brass standoffs respectively.

I find I like the textured CF the best as a combination of good looks and "grippyness". Wish I could find a Frag CF..

Thanks for the pics az2ak! I think I am going to hunt for blue hardware/standoffs and textured cf.

I suppose, although that does directly oppose my need for instant gratification...
