Questions on Victorinox Swisstool

Although I own/use some Leatherman tools, I am curious about this one, too. Does the wire cutting feature also cut hard wire, as on the Leatherman tools? How does the tool hold up during fairly hard use?
I love Victorinox SAKs, but would like to know about this tool from owners/users.
Also, perhaps some people can also mention some examples of their overall uses of this tool.
Thanks! Jim

However I do reccomend them..Do A search in the reviews and testing forum and you will learn A lot. That's what I did before I got mine. I didn't read one bad thing about it. All things said, I think now I want A Leatherman Flair.

I work in a Welding Shop at night. I do mostly MIG welding and that Swisstool really stands up to the test. Welding wire is about as hard as you're likely to find, except for specialized applications. I make about two to three hundred cuts a night. I've done this for months without sharpening the cutter edges. Plus the other tools do a fine job in realworld applications. The blades do a much better job on cardboard than the Leathermen do (I've got almost all of them), this includes the double wall thickness(1/2 - 3/4 inch) of "Gaylord" boxes.
The handle if far more comfy than any Leatherman, including the WAVE.

Swisstool is strong, heavily rugged.
Knife cut better than LM Wave's.
I have tested it and compare them and it's definitely stronger. Very comfortable to handle. Quality control is definitely better. Check a few Swisstools all have very fine finish with precise closing plier jaw.

I am not very happy with wave especially the quality control. I have changed the my faulty one for a new one. New one has other faulty (scissor can't cut a fine string) and it rust easily as well without any heavy use really, not the Swisstool though...

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

Well...looks like I'm gonna have to get me a Swisstool. I briefly compared one in the shop to my Leatherman Supertool, which is itself a very excellent, heavy-duty tool.

One of the things that struck me was the ease and comparative safety of the Swisstool. I didn't have to open the pliers to get another tool, and I didn't have to pull out a tool to unlock another. I love my LM Super, but the tool has bitten me a few times in that way...the Swisstool seems better-designed in the event you need quick access to an implement (such as under stress).

Thanks again, and hopefully there will be more comments on this tool.

Out of job necessity, I use a "tool" many times on a daily basis. The Victorinox was one of those things I had to have.I believe you could do anything to this and not wreck it! Everything about it is great and it is a prized piece in my collection of multi-tools,however, for what I do, the Schrade tough tool wins all the way around.

P.S.Don't count on the small screwdriver head
on any multi-tool...they all chip!
