For those who haven't seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqvm7iDpNzU

This video was posted back in '08 and user videos with this knife in hand have been around since then as well. However, I most certainly have not seen the knife on Cold Steel's website till today, under items new for 2010.

Was the knife pulled off the market and re-released with opening mechanisms that look slightly less criminal? I mean, look at that video. Really appreciate them going the extra mile and getting Fu Manchu up there to do the opening demo.

You know, in Steven Seagal movies it's always an Asian feller who pulls the funky weapon.

No, it was Japanese made and discontinued like many of the Japanese made knives a year or two ago. It is now coming back, I assume, with Taiwan or China manufacturing. They have done this same thing with a big portion of their line over the past few years.

Ah, clever. Considering people with a genuine interest in knife quality are unlikely to be the guys posting knife-flipping vids on Youtube, that was probably a smart business decision.

I have an original Triple Action, they can be found easily through many dealers using a Google search... and I love it.

Once you learn it, it is a very fast deployment, and nearly as impressive as whipping out a balisong.

I plan to buy each of the two new models as well just to round out the collection.

Insanely sharp blades and very tough as well (as to be expected from CS), so it makes a good EDC IMO.

Fun and collectible (one rare folder with double edge) but definitly not an EDC.
You can also check Fred Perrin tri-folder video on utube.
