Questions re Passwords, Pictures, etc.

My password keeps getting "lost" or something. Is there a way to get IE5 to remember it automatically again. Secondly, in this regard, I note that the original message confirming registration has my correct password so I just paste it in. On the other hand, the supplemental reminders, that are sent if you request your password, are wrong, in that they have an extra space at the end. Not a big deal now that I know it, but it was pretty confusing for awhile, when I was having password trouble. It was hard to figure out how it could be typed wrong when one was cutting and pasting. You might want to take a look at that Spark.

Pictures. I presume that those who post pictures paste them in. How is that done? I did not see this in the FAQ. If it is there Spark you have my permission to edit this and put in an embarassment face. I assume to preseve bandwidth you wish us to show some restraint re numbers and size. Is there a maximum size that you would prefer?

I often scan at a relatively high dpi for better resolution. I then find though, that I do not know how to get the image reduced as I would prefer. If you jut compress the jpg too far, quality is lost. Is there a better way to reduce the size of an already scanned jpg. I have access to Adobe Photoshop, and various other programs, although I do not know them very well. While I am at it, I like using my scans as wallpaper at 1024 x 768. Is there a way to get the scans to that size so the knife is not distorted? (When I have time to figure out how, I plan on making a collage of various scans, to use as wallpaper....I think I will go back and snitch that high resolution scan of the BF Native, and use that for awhile. Anybody know of/want to create a good knife theme?

The ETC part: I find that I sometimes forget a thread I may be especially interested in,perhaps because I have also posted a question in it. I know the software conveniently shows new posts since logon, although unfortunately, I believe that this red marking is general so that if you only get to one subforum, all are marked as "read."

Is there a way to watch a particular thread, if you are not the one who created it. {Enhancement request??}

Thank you for your attention.

Hi Donald!

Let me adress some of your questions.
1. To post a picture, you need to put it somewhere on the net and then put the url to that picture between {img}the-link-here{/img} Except you need to use the [] brackets instead of {}. You usually get 5~10mb from you ISP or go to Geocities.

2. The picture size limit should be around 50kb I heard

3. You can scan the images around 50~100 dpi and they are still ok

4. A VERY good shareware program for modifying scans is Thumbs+. You can download it from here www.cerious.com/ With this it is not only possible to shrink the size of the image, but also to reduce the quality (and with this the file size) without reducing the dimensions of the picture.
