Is the listing of retired models in the catalog section of the website complete? I don't see the green Salsa there (IIRC there was one) and I don't see the SpyFox. On the latter basis I'm wondering if my SpyFox (just found--I really hate packing) is actually counterfeit. Photos are linked below because Flickr won't cooperate. The website does show the larger one as the C99 Volpe. There's also one that looks like mine on the bay, but if it's counterfeit, I wouldn't know.

Hi average gimp,
The SpyFox wasn't actually a Spyderco product. Here is my original post on it from 2008 (from the Spyderco.com Forum).

The SpyFox is a collaboration between Fox Cutlery and Spyderco. The collaboration was initiated by Fox Cutlery and they are the manufacturer of the SpyFox. AG Russell has an exclusive with Fox for the two variants shown. Please be aware that any warranty issues will be handled by AG Russell, not Spyderco and as an AG Russell exclusive, they will not be available as part of our Collectors Club.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

As for other SKUs/Models not on our site - there are some older models released prior to the site existing as well as various Sprint Runs or Exclusives that are not shown on our site. Some Sprint Runs are sold out long before we ever get them in inventory so they weren't made available online. The product on our current site primarily represents product sold through our outlet store. It's not necessarily inclusive of everything we've done. A great resource is http://spydiewiki.com/index.php?title=Main_Page. The SpydieWiki was put together by some of our most knowledgeable and passionate ELUs. It was something that we honestly couldn't have put together with our crew due to the time commitment. We are very grateful that it exists and definitely use it as a resource ourselves.

When it comes to the retired models, the online catalog is far from complete. You can get a better sense of older models by downloading the PDF versions of a whole bunch of older catalogs and advertising materials from Spydiewiki.

As for the SpyFox, it's not MIA, it was not a Spyderco product. It was made by Fox with Spyderco's permission but never marketed by Spyderco. I could be wrong, but I think A G Russell may have been the only US source for them.
