Questions regarding Microtech SOCOM Elite

Hoping you guys can answer these questions for me as Microtech hasn't replied back.

1. Is the SOCOM Elite currently in production. I read that it is no longer in production, yet I see it on their website with nothing to the contrary.

2. I see 1STOP doesn't list it in their current line up so I will respectfully ask if anyone has seen a better price for the full sized SOCOM Elite than $136.00? That's the best price I've found.

3. I'm thinking about selling a couple of knives to help finance the SOCOM Elite. Among them is my mint in box, still with original factory plain edge, Benchmade Pinnacle. Good idea? Bad idea? How much do you think I could sell the BM for on E-Bay?

i dont think the SOCOM elite is still being made, not as a regular production item anyway, i dont think. not the M/A one anyway, maybe the DA's.

$136 is a GREAT price, are ya sure its not a SOCOM M/A but an elite?? they are different.

i would rather have a MT than a BM, myself. the SOCOM elite is my fav production knife, bar none, and the SOCOM M/A is good also, but not like the elite.

if ya can get a elite for $136, i say go for it, a good price imho

Thanks guys. I just got word from Microtech that they are NOT in production at this time.

I don't think I want to sell my Pinnacle anyway. I might just bite the cost and buy it.

Yes, I can confirm the price for an Elite, not the older M/A, and can vouch for the legitimacy since it's the dealer I bought my Spyderco Police from a month ago. Yeah, don't worry I'll tell all of you. But gimme a chance, since I don't even have one Microtech yet! :eek:

I can't even confirm whether the guy has any in stock at this time. I'm going to e-mail him and find out.

BTW, they have UDT's for about the same price, and Vectors starting at $162.00 for manuals, $219 for autos. I laughed recently when I saw bidders on E-Bay paying over $200 for manual Vectors.
 
odd, most elites i have seen are HIGHER than vectors..........send me a link also to the people w/the $136 elites, i wanna get my wife a mini for X-mas if possible....

I paid much more than that when i bought mine and that was when they were in production. Grab them while you can. Especially those tanto-bladed elites...
