It was recently brought to my attention about another thread suspecting that the EUZTBM I put up on flea bay may be FAKE...
First off, I haven't posted in this forum for years but am still an active Busse collector and lurker here. I was on BF when it was under Mike Turber, and re-joined in 06.
The assumption that since my ZTBM is in Singapore, that its a FAKE, or I might "shaft" people, actually disappoints me more than anything. There are quite a few Busse collectors here and I know NONE that collect fake busses. In fact, I haven't seen or heard of a fake Busse. Singapore is not a country known for cloning knives or anything else, so why the assumption??
And I would copy a 1 of 12 EU ZTBM complete with desert camo?? and a copied Kenny Rowe sheath too??
Ive collected knives for 23 years, Busses since the late 90s, this is the first time I hear that living in Singapore can make some ASSUME that your Busse is FAKE or that buyers "can get the shaft."
Regarding the disclaimer "I will not be responsible once the package is shipped." Nearly ALL US sellers put that disclaimer when they sell international so as not to "eat losses" when things are beyond their control(eg-lost shipments.) I accept that always when I buy. But when I put the same disclaimer up- it raises red flags????
Ive been very happy collecting and using Busses over the years, that's why its disappointing to me to hear some other Busse collectors think in the way they do... Needless to say, Ill take the listing down. I value my reputation too much to think that others would think I would sell a FAKE.
Mods, I realize the other thread is locked, I hope that its ok that I responded here...

For what it is worth to whoever reads this. From the pics posted elsewhere there is nothing that leads me to believe that this is a fake.

Thanks Garth! For what its worth, I actually bought the EU ZTBM from motionman2/Jason Heinle who got it from one of the Ganzaas in 06.. I still think its wrong to think that since the knife is in Singapore, its fake.. Im sure there are Busses all over the world!

Yeah... And more busses to come to Singapore.... Talon is a very old personal friend of mine and it was he who got me started on INFI.... My wallet hates him for that.... Now he has gone to a lot of trouble to get these fine knives all the way here and he has been kind enough to let me buy a couple from him at the same prices he purchased at, not even asking for the shipping as he knew I was falling in love with these knives. I am not covering for him, I even have sheaths ordered for them, just ask Azwelke and ChuddyBear ...... No, we do not have decent forges here in Singapore to make copy knives and we don't have factories ready to produce any design we decide to mass produce. The closest thing we have is a 3D printer......

I wouldnt take it very personal, when posted here and your locations says Singapore, no one would blink. Its likely just the ebay aspect as many, esp newbs are very skeptical about that site. I hate the fleebay/egay talk as Imo its a great place as long as you know what your doing. Turds are everywhere. But whatever, more chances for me to score good deals I recon. Unfortunately I got outbid on your mistress tho : p

IF you've properly insured your item, there should be no issue as to whether you're going to be responsible or not. Probably not an issue if you're talking about some kind of cheap electronics, but a seller should take an active part in making sure an expensive knife gets to where it needs to go.

Huh?? You lost me buddy

Since I'm the guilty party I'll explain what I think he was saying - If the ad were posted here no-one would care that he is in Singapore, he has good feedback and a solid reputation. But since it was on Ebay and I (or others) had no idea who the seller was it raised eyebrows.

I do sincerely apologize to the OP for the misunderstanding but I have to be (and will be) dutiful when dealing with people I don't know online. An account with a handful of purchases and zero sales on Ebay - selling a multi hundred dollar knife would require diligence regardless of where it comes from. And as an ignorant/biased American, yes I do look at anywhere outside of the use (including MX/CA) a little harder - and I apologize for that bias.

Also, FWIW, I never did say it was a fake, I just wanted to see what those who are more knowledgeable would say since I'm an Infi newbie and wasn't even sure if this knife really existed, since it is so rare I was unable to find any real details on it until I asked here...

Anyway. I am sorry for upsetting you and the row I've caused.

LesserBeing, if you go through the Exchange sub-forums, how many US sellers guarantee international shipments?? I can safely say 0 without buying additional insurance. In hundreds of transactions here, I had to agree to the "responsibility disclaimer." No difference when I sell, although any buyer can request for additional insurance..

I know you well my friend, and I know you would NEVER take advantage of anyone, period. Sometimes a person's location does make it difficult, and sometimes there are people that earned every good feedback. You my friend have earned it in spades.

I get to deal with people all over the world, even places regular traders will not, and I am blessed to make friends in some of those out of the way places. Some that make the aforementioned place very easy to deal with. :) Some people would be shocked where these and other expensive knives show up from time to time.
